Spring 2022 COVID-19 Testing & Vaccination Policy
Política de vacunación y pruebas de COVID-19 de primavera de 2022

Due to new federal regulations, starting in January 2022, Providence Cristo Rey will be implementing a new COVID-19 testing policy for students and staff. Beginning on January 3rd, students will have two options:

  1. Receive a weekly COVID-19 test, the results of which will be submitted to their CWS job site to confirm that they are safe to go to work that week. The weekly testing will be free and will be a noninvasive spit test conducted at school.

  2. Voluntarily provide the school with proof of vaccination. This will waive the weekly testing requirement as long as their vaccination is current. Proof of vaccination can be submitted to the school registrar.

All students who do not provide proof of vaccination and opt for weekly testing will need to submit signed HIPAA and Consent forms to the school prior to the start of the semester. Forms will be mailed to families, or can be downloaded below or picked up in the main office.

Please see the following resources to learn more about the new federal policy and our PCRHS testing protocol and procedure.

  • Purpose: To help our school community watch for new COVID-19 infections, our school is joining a COVID-19 testing program. Regular testing finds contagious individuals before a person feels sick. Finding COVID-19 infections early helps us keep school safe and students in school.

  • Testing will help us stop the risk of spread through our school by students who may not know they are sick. If we can stop the spread early, fewer students will have to be in quarantine. We will minimize in-person learning interruption. And our community and school will be safer.

  •  How the test works: This program uses a non-painful technique by collecting saliva. Students will collect saliva into a tube while a trained school staff person is present. The school staff will send the samples to a laboratory for testing later that day.

  • Testing schedule: Students and staff will be offered the opportunity to test once a week.

  • Results: Test results will be returned within 24-48 hours. They will be posted on a safe
website. Parents/guardians will be able to create their own accounts on the website. If you create an account, the website will alert you when your child’s test results are available. This system helps us obey privacy rules under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

  • Consent: A consent form for parents/guardians and a HIPAA authorization form are required (see below). Completing the form will allow your child to be tested and the results shared with you and the school.

  • Costs: This service is provided free of charge to you and our school. Funding was provided
by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
