Providence Cristo Rey High School is proud to continue the Cristo Rey Companions Mentorship Program for the 2023-2024 school year.

PURPOSE: Cristo Rey Companions (CRC) work to encourage student achievement through individual mentorship focused on developing community connections and expanding students’ supportive networks. CRC seeks to utilize one-on-one interactions with prominent members of the community to ground Providence Cristo Rey students in their high school experience through highlighting and exploring their unique interests, strengths, and talents.  

 

MISSION: To facilitate success in all areas of life for the students at Providence Cristo Rey High School through building meaningful relationships with adult mentors.  

 

VISION: To promote academic achievement through mentorship and the engagement of individual interests, strengths, and talents.

Program Goals: 

  • Enhance the student experience through engaging individual talents and strengths 

  • Prepare students for college 

  • Prepare students for the workforce 

  • Create opportunities for students to explore personal and professional interests 

  • Broaden student exposure   

  • Provide students with the support they need for holistic growth and development 

  • Build student confidence 

  • Nurture relationship-building skills 

BECOME A MENTOR!

Mentor Guidelines & Expectations: 

  • 1-year commitment 

  • Minimum of 2 school-based activities throughout the year  

  • Monthly recurring interactions between Mentor & Mentee, via email and scheduled in-person 

  • Mentor to complete application, background check, and required training 

  • Attendance at monthly Mentor & Mentee group outings

  • Availability during evenings, school days, and occasional weekends. A schedule will be provided in advance
