Shea Kiewit Joint Venture Funds Providence Cristo Rey Laptop Program
Providence Cristo Rey High School is proud to be able to provide one-to-one technology at no extra cost to our families. We strongly believe that teaching our students the tools to succeed in the professional world includes the use of technology in a wide variety of settings and for a variety of business applications.
We are extremely fortunate to have many in the community, including our partner businesses and grant funders, who value this experience as well. One such partner, the Shea Kiewit Joint Venture, has generously funded the purchase of 110 new laptops for our incoming freshman and transfer students.
Currently, Shea Kiewit Joint Venture is constructing miles of combined sewer overflow tunnels in Indianapolis, which will help protect our waterways from contamination in the future. Both Shea and Kiewit companies have a long history of giving back to the communities where they work, across the U.S. and beyond. We are grateful that they have chosen to support our students’ success.
Principal Brian Dinkins said, "Shea Kiewit has given our students more than just hardware to use on a daily basis. They are making it possible to learn skills that will be invaluable to our students later in life. The impact of this gift is enormous."
Our students, teachers, and staff wish to thank Mr. Eric Haacke and Mr. Christian Heinz of the local Shea Kiewit operations, Mr. Dan O’Melveny, Executive Director of Shea Family Charities, Mr. John Shea and the Shea family, and Mr. Mike Miller of Citizens Energy for making this gift possible.
