Providence Cristo Rey High School Announces New President


The Providence Cristo Rey High School Board of Directors announced today that Dr. Margie Crooks has been named president of the school, effective November 13th, 2017.

Dr. Crooks has more than two decades of experience in leading mission-focused organizations, including critical roles within the Diocese of Lafayette and the Archdiocese of Detroit. Her most recent role was as Director of Mission & Discipleship for Church of the Blessed Sacrament parish in West Lafayette, Indiana. She also has an extensive background in healthcare operations management.

During her time with the Archdiocese of Detroit as the Director of Department of Evangelization, Catechesis & Schools, Dr. Crooks oversaw several areas of the Archdiocesan restructuring, which included 125 schools and 270 parishes. She also guided these schools and parishes through the development, alignment, and implementation of strategic goals for quality, Catholic education.

“I am excited to be joining the Providence Cristo Rey High School team in their mission driven, innovative work for high school students in Indianapolis,” said Dr. Crooks. “To be able to assist in making dreams a reality for these youth is an amazing opportunity. I look forward to continuing, and building upon, the strong faith, academic, and professional foundation that makes the Cristo Rey Network model transformative and successful.”

Dr. Crooks earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Purdue University West Lafayette and her master’s degree in Theology with a specialization in Adult Education & Formation from Franciscan University of Steubenville. She earned her Doctorate in Pastoral Ministry from the Graduate Theological Foundation.
