CHEMISTRY OLYMPIAD TEAM

The Chemistry Olympiad Exam is a difficult 2-hour test administered by the American Chemical Society every spring. Providence Cristo Rey students were nominated to our team based on their classroom performance, test scores, and laboratory grades, or enrollment in Advanced Placement Chemistry. They represent the elite students junior level science at PCRHS. After being nominated, students studied material beyond the topics presented in the classroom and on their own time.

L. DAVID LYONS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Dave Lyons Memorial scholarship awards are intended to help students cover some of the gap between the cost of their college education and what they have been awarded thus far in financial aid and other scholarships. Named in honor of a former PCR employee who passed in 2016, Dave Lyons, this scholarship is awarded to students who have exhibited positive attributes in the academic, extracurricular, and corporate work study arenas and have shown themselves to be positive role models both at school and in the community.

LOVE, MERCY, JUSTICE SCHOLARSHIP

The Love Mercy Justice Scholarship is a $500 scholarship given to the Providence Cristo Rey High School senior who has best displayed love, mercy, and justice toward his or her peers and community.

SYLVESTER FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

The Sylvester Family Scholarship is a $500 scholarship given to a senior who is an active Student Ambassador and who displays excellence in academics and Corporate Work Study.

Citizenship Awards & Providence Award

Faculty and staff are asked to reflect on the Providence Cristo Rey pledge, and then nominate the student they believe best exemplifies the values put forth in that pledge. Only one student wins this highest award each year, the Providence Award.

All the students listed below were nominated for the Providence Award. They have upheld the pledge of Providence Cristo Rey High School by “striving to do the right thing, upholding the values, standards and ethics of Providence Cristo Rey High School, carrying yourselves with pride and professionalism, and remaining dependable, truthful, trustworthy, polite, honest, respectful and positive”.
