Winter Weather Delay & Closing Policy

Indiana winter weather can be unpredictable, so we want to let you know what to expect for potential school delays and closings. Below are some commonly asked questions on this topic.
How do you decide to delay or cancel school?
When making this decision, our top priority is keeping our students, parents, and employees safe. While snow, sleet, and ice do present challenges, we aim to keep school open whenever possible.
Our school administration and Miller Transportation (our bus company) staff will take into account road conditions, wind chill, weather outlook for the rest of the day, and transportation capability.
If severe conditions look like they will improve as the morning goes on (end to sleet/snow, warming temperatures, etc.), we may decide to delay school. If it appears a late start schedule would not alleviate conditions, we will be closed.
How will I know if school is delayed or closed?
Please check the following tools to see if Providence Cristo Rey High School has a school delay or closing:
Social Media - Our school Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram will have notifications posted.
School Website - Our school webpage (www.cristoreyindy.org) will have a posted announcement.
TV stations - Weather delays or cancellations will be reported to local news stations. Click on the links below to see each channel's weather alert page:
Robocall - Students and employees will receive a robocall notification. Please make sure we have a current phone number.
Email - Students and employees will receive an email notification.
If there is a two-hour delay, how do I know when my bus will come?
If we delay on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, your bus will arrive 2 hours after your regularly scheduled stop time.
If we delay on a Friday, your bus will arrive 1 hour after your regularly scheduled stop time, due to the already delayed Friday schedule.
Are there make-up days?
If school is delayed, there will be no need for a make-up day. If school is closed, we will have a make-up day on either Friday, February 16th and/or Friday, March 30th.
Make-up days are subject to change as needed by school administration.
How will I know if my after-school activity is cancelled?
Student athletes should watch for email, text, or VNN alert messages from their coach or listen for a school announcement about practice or game cancellations.
Other after-school groups (Robotics, DECA, Student Council, Parent Club, etc.) should watch for notification from school staff about cancellations for their meeting or event.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

I read the winter weather delay and closing policy, and it was clear that the school cares most about student safety by checking roads, wind chill, and bus conditions before deciding if classes start late or are cancelled, and families get alerts by phone, email, social media, and TV. It reminded me of the time I hire someone to take my online chemistry class because I was so confused with all the changes to my schedule in a snow week, and they helped me a lot. Reading this made me realise how good plans help everyone stay calm and safe.
I read the winter weather delay and closing policy and it makes sense that the school puts safety first by checking road and weather conditions before deciding if classes start late or cancel for the day, while also sharing updates through social media, emails, and calls so families are informed. I once worked on a story project and used custom book cover designer near me to help me finish the look, and that first step gave me a boost of confidence. Thinking about planning like this reminds me that clear rules and preparation help everyone feel more ready for unexpected days.
I read your post about the winter weather delay and closing policy and it made me think about how much planning goes into keeping kids safe and parents informed. When I had to finish a big paper once I even used Manuscript writing services so I could focus on understanding tough rules while someone helped shape my writing. It reminds me that clear help can make hard tasks feel simpler and less stressful.
I read your winter weather delay policy and it was nice how you explained the steps families should take when school plans change. Last year when I was overwhelmed with so many deadlines I even had to hire someone to take my online Management class so I would not fall behind and still deal with cold weather days and plans. Your post reminded me that clear rules help everyone stay calm.
