Robotics Team Wins Award at State Competition

The Providence Cristo Rey Robotics Team at the Indiana VEX State competition with school president, Dr. Crooks

The Providence Cristo Rey High School Robotics Team competed at the Indiana VEX State Championship on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The top middle and high school robotics teams from across Indiana attended this day-long event. The Wolves finished the day ranked 37th of the 183 high school robotics teams in Indiana.

They also earned the Build Award, one of only seven named awards. This award is given to the team that constructs a robot with attention to detail, professional quality, reliability on the field, efficient use of mechanical and electrical components, and demonstrates professionalism and teamwork throughout the competition.

This is the fifth year that Providence Cristo Rey has had a competitive robotics team. Each year, a new task is given to robotics teams around the country. Teams must build a new robot from scratch to complete the given task. The building, programming, and driving of the robot is completely student-led.

Congratulations, Wolves!
