Chemistry Olympiad Team

PCR students were nominated to this team based on their classroom performance, test scores, laboratory grades, or enrollment in Advanced Placement Chemistry. They represent an elite group of junior level science students at our school. About 200 students from Indiana participate in the 1st year regional exam, and about 50 sit the 2nd year exam. Students who advance from the Chemistry Olympiad screening exams go on to train over the summer at the US Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and then represent the United States at international competition.

Love Mercy Justice Scholarship

The Love Mercy Justice Scholarship is a $500 scholarship given to the Providence Cristo Rey High School senior who has best displayed love, mercy, and justice toward his or her peers and community.

Sylvester Family Scholarship

The Sylvester Family Scholarship is a $500 scholarship given to a senior who is an active Student Ambassador and who displays excellence in academics and Corporate Work Study.

2018 Sylvester Family Scholarship Recipient: Brianna Carver

Dave Lyons Memorial Scholarship Dave Lyons was a dedicated member of the Institutional Advancement team at Providence Cristo Rey for many years. He worked tirelessly to support the students and the mission of the school and did so with joy and enthusiasm. Dave passed away in 2016 and is deeply missed.

This scholarship, created in his honor and funded by an anonymous donor, is awarded to students who have exhibited positive attributes in the academic, extracurricular, and corporate work study and have shown themselves to be positive role models both at school and in the community. Recipients must also have modeled and promoted the 7 Providence P’s: Prompt, Prepared, Participative, Positive, Productive, Polite, Prayerful, Providence.

Providence Award and Citizenship Awards

The highest award that can be given to a Providence Cristo Rey High School student is the Providence Award. This award is accompanied by a $500 scholarship as well as a commemorative plaque. Faculty and staff are asked to reflect on the Providence Cristo Rey pledge, and then nominate the student they believe best exemplifies the values put forth in that pledge. Only one student wins this highest award each year.
